I'd like to creep into the wood And see the bonnets blue, And hear the bluebells ringing loud, I wish I could -- don't you?
t's another day, another month, and another time for people to show up in the well. You'd better go rescue them! Never mind the fact that you woke up with a flower in your hands.
It's probably fine. Don't mind it at all. It's not like it's hard to ignore a little flower.
(At least, not until the effects start to kick in. Better go rescue the people in the well before they do.)
Oh, right. Even the people in the well have flowers, so... things are going to be a little ridiculous very quickly, when all of those side effects kick in. Have fun!

[But he's been practicing all this time, hasn't he? All this time, and no improvement...but then again it's not like he ever had anyone taste his cooking before he came here, and Pyra had said those mochis were good...but Archer's reactions have yet to get any better.....
He still looks incredibly unsure of himself right now, as he looks up at Pyra with something resembling hope.]
It occurs to her then that Xie Lian might know that his cooking isn't quite the best. But, then, it could be that how food tastes to him might not have mattered to him in the first place, what with being a god, and then as someone who has focused only on survival for a time. He wouldn't have cooked for himself even before then, as a prince. There simply wouldn't have been a need to make a meal look presentable or palatable. ]
I really think so. [ She reassures him softly. ]
You never really had to worry about the taste of food before, right? But now, when cooking for others, you just might.
It's been...a long time since I thought about taste. [Does he even still have a sense of taste anymore?] It's hard to remember what anything tastes like, let alone what the result will be...really, I'm not sure how anyone's put up with my attempts for so long.
[He covers his face with his hands, overwhelmed by this surge of inadequacy.]
I'm the worst person to have in the kitchen, you might as well ask a dog to cook instead.
[ ...Aw. It breaks her heart to see him so downtrodden.
Pyra is going to step up to him, reaching out to his wrists to gently tug at them to attempt to pry them from his eyes. Look at her, don't hide, it will be okay-- that's what she's trying to convey. ]
It will be fine. We have all the time in the world to practice. And you don't have to be the best cook in the entire world, or master everything. All you need is-- [ Hm. ] one thing. One dish that you can perfect and call your own.
[His hands get pulled away with only the slightest bit of effort (though effort is still required), revealing a face that...well he's not crying, at least, but he sure does look the very picture of downtrodden.
Her words really are uplifting though. It's true, he has all the time in the world - and maybe he doesn't have to be the best at it.
He gathers up his courage, opening his mouth to say] I--
That-- [He sure is stuttering a lot today--] I don't....think romantic love is necessarily required, though...
[His newfound lack of confidence easily lends itself getting extra flustered over the idea of love...certainly nobody could really love him! Not even his accidental somehow-ex! And yet here he is, worrying over it.]
[ Okay no it’s not, it’s really not, she’s BS-here a little. But look! It’s distracting him!! ]
And you absolutely must figure out their favorite dish! So— anyone in mind? Anyone at all?
[ Meanwhile, she’ll just be wrapping her arm around his to tug him along. C’mon, let’s go for a walk... although she’s really looking around for what may be a proper solution to this enchantment. ]
[Looking away!! And really he doesn't have anyone in mind, it's not like he's ever thought that way about anyone...the guy who kissed him doesn't count. Either way, he does follow her obediently, clinging a little closer to her arm than he normally would.]
What if we just, just make something you like? That would be nice, wouldn't it?
[ That denial! Sounds like another stammer to her.
Anyway, she's going to keep this up because this is so much more fun than seeing him sad. If-- if he ever finds someone here... she hopes that they'll be able to keep him happy. ] Are you trying to win my heart through cooking, Xie Lian?
[ That's definitely not the case, but she's teasing anyway. ] You should know, I don't have a heart.
[ ....Or a stomach. Or lungs. Or anything. But ya know. Somehow she still breathes. ]
[ She's leading him along! Hm.... sure are a lot of flowers anywhere. They have to do with this enchantment, she's sure. But how to get rid of it? ] You are a god.
[Deserving...does he deserve it? He doesn't, does he!? This is just Pyra being her usual kind self, is all--]
I, I may be a god, but I'm not a well-respected one at all, you know, they're all making bets on when I'll get kicked out again, I never solved that first prayer I was given when I got back, there's really much better gods...!

[Xie Lian looks down at the flaming mess that was once his lunch, resignation written all over his face as he turns to get the water.]
It wouldn't have been edible anyway...I'm a hopeless cook, really.
[There's a narcissus tucked behind his ear.]

Wh---what? No, no-- not at....
[ She's already stomping out the fire with her foot.
Now it's a bigger fire.
This is a metaphor of her existence. ] No! It's-- fire is... this is called grilling! Mm-mmm~ Bon-fire meals! We should roast some sweet potatoes!

You don't need to lie to me. I know how bad it is. Have you seen Archer's reactions to my cooking? And yet he continues to try it...
[oh no why has he been poisoning Archer all this time he should! Quit cooking!! Forever!!!]

Xie Lian.... [ She approaches him, a hand going to his shoulder.
...He'll be sturdy enough to take the hit. ] All you need is a little practice.

[He thought the wedding fiasco was over!?]

Really.
[ All sparkling smile over here. ]
But it's true. [ In an "old wives' tale" sort of true. ] Remember what I said was the most important ingredient in a recipe?

[He waves his hands in frantic denial, an action which freezes as abruptly as it started when she continues.]
You...you must have a spiritual heart, if not a physical one. You're so kind, even to someone like me.
[The hands lower along with his head as he reaches the end of that sentence.]
