Event Twenty-One

Sometimes I feel happy,
Sometimes I feel sad.
Sometimes I feel curious,
Sometimes I feel mad.
Sometimes I feel silly,
Sometimes I feel surprised.
How many feelings,
Do I have inside?

t's another regular, normal day in the Town. There's absolutely nothing to show that anything could possibly be wrong; the birds are chirping, the sky is bright, and everything is absolutely, entirely wrong.

This time, though? The problem is internal. Slowly, bit by bit, people are going to stop feeling entirely like themselves -- or maybe even stop feeling at all.

And suddenly that nice, bright day doesn't seem quite so nice and not quite so bright any longer after all.

Curse…you…Mordred…

Does it hurt? It hurts, right? [ She puts Clarent on her shoulder and stands over him. ] I'm certain Iseult would do the same to your two-timing ass! No wonder you forgot about her so easily!

[ It's cruel, and she knows it — but she figures that's the best way to get him back to normal. Better for him to be angry at her than miserable, or whatever false, weird happiness he had before. ]

... Anyway, that's your punishment. Whether you remember her face or not, you've at least earned the right to see it again. [ Even if only in his mind's eye. After a pause, she sighs. ] Come on, stand up. What would the king say if he saw you like this?

[ Of course it hurts!! So he isn’t going to even dignify that with a response. He feels like screaming, but he manages to keep it in, but oooooh, for the first time in a really long while he’s beginning to regret following the king’s orders.

And really? Really? Bringing up the king now after she’d just—but okay, he’ll live. He’s taken worse phallic injuries than this, honestly, though he still staggers as he rises to his feet.

And he’s definitely angry. ]

Only the king may punish me.

[ Or any other knight, for that matter—because while what Mordred did was wrong, Tristan wasn’t going to call her out on that unknightly behavior. Or overstep his bounds by harming what he should be helping to nurture.

This is hard. ]

And I would thank you kindly to never speak of Iseult again. The fact that one traitor speaks her name is more than enough.

Don't tell me what to do. It's not like I cared about your problems to start with.

[ She grins. Anger is something she knows how to deal with — especially when it comes from the Round Table. He's also acting more normal than before, which she'll call a win — even if she had to play dirty as hell to achieve it. ]

All right. Me being here isn't helping anymore. [ If it ever was to start with................ ] If you want to have a real fight, we'll do it later.

[ Ugh, this insolence…! He really, really wants to call her out in a proper, no-holds-barred heh knightly duel, but what would be the point when he can’t even trust her to fight honorably? ]

If that is all you came here to do, then rest assured that you have not succeeded.

[ Both in helping him remember and in getting him to fight her—again. He’s had more than enough Mordred for a week. ]
