Minato
It wasn’t as if Caramia had even expected to use his gun today. He was perfectly content with wandering the woods, trying to figure out what was causing the trees to enclose like this, and maybe some other answers would pop up along the way. This, however, wasn’t as safe as one might presume. Being around here made Caramia feel dizzy and sick. And in turn, he was not nearly on top of his game as he knew he should have been.
Which is why he couldn’t let any sneaky monsters, Kalidahs or otherwise, try and get the upper hand! Or, that’s what he thought, anyway. But this wasn’t a Kalidah, or an orc, or a wolf lost from its pack, or a stray ghoul from the depths of the forest. He didn’t even get lucky and hit one of the many harmless mutated animals around here that made for a good meal.
The funny part was… he didn’t even need to see what he had hit at first. There was something wildly off when the colorless, scentless blood instead favored an unmistakable coppery scent that Caramia knew a little too well. His stomach clenched tightly, and the world slowed as his dizzy mind tried to make sense of things and finally see what he had hit, and… ]
Minato…?
[ Wait. No. No, no, no, no. That couldn’t be right. He didn’t really— this had to be some illusion from the forest, right? This was just to mess with him… right?
…
Caramia managed to holster his pistol before sprinting towards Minato. Even if this was a trick, he couldn’t just... leave him there. ]

But it takes him time to catch up. The woods are twisty and windy, can't be trusted at all, and send him in so many different directions, and when he finally hears someone else, it's...
Well, it's too late.
The shot takes him off-guard, and for a long moment, he can't even process what happened. He staggers back, the force of the bullet sending him stumbling backwards--and then the pain sinks in, Minato's breath hitching as he crumples to one knee, his hand coming up to a shoulder that's on fire.
W...what...? What just happened...?]
Kyrie
Approaching Kyrie without his courage pendant around his neck, but instead tightly clasped in his hand might have already raised some red flags for his consigliere, but he seemed pretty intent on having this conversation with him whether he wanted to or not.
“Kyrie,” he said, making sure to stand in way of any potential exits so Kyrie couldn’t just walk away and call him an idiot. “I have something… that I think you should have.”
Akechi
All in all? Not fun times for anyone, really.
He could only hope Lupin wasn’t the one who answered. He already felt like he was about to breakdown, he didn’t need to do it in front of the town’s resident classy thief. ]

Unfortunately, Akechi is a perceptive young man-- has become even more so, in the year he's been in Chroma, through the unlikely bonds he's forged-- and his easy smile upon seeing Caramia is swiftly replaced with a frown. ]
... is something the matter, Caramia-san?
[ No unnecessary pleasantries, not even a single "hello" to preface this conversation with. That alone is a telling sign of how worried he really is. ]

You’ll just hurt him, too, he thought… but, for now, he could ignore them.
Still, he didn’t have time to properly collect himself, between beating himself up and the stress and panic of anything, he wasn’t sure what to say or where to start or... ]
I… shot Minato.
[ Thanks, Caramia. ]

This, however, isn't one of those times. This isn't a friendly gesture, or even a show of sympathy; it's a different feeling, one that Akechi is fairly acquainted with. ]
You... shot Arisato-kun?
[ That's despair. ]
Hold on a moment-- Where is he right now? Does he need medical care?
[ Someone has to keep their cool in trying times, right? So even though he doesn't pull away from Caramia, Akechi defaults to the rational path-- and as a result, perhaps he doesn't offer much else in the way of comfort, except for a warm body to be latched onto. ]

No, I… I brought him to Maya, I- I didn’t… I couldn’t… [ He tried his best to recollect his thoughts, but where was he even supposed to start? ] I shot him. I hurt him— it’s all my fault, I…
[ His voice caught in his throat, trying to rationalize everything. Things from ‘calm down, you’re making a scene’ to ‘it was an accident, you’re being dramatic’ to ‘how dare you seek pity over something like this’ all crowded themselves in his head too much to make any semblance of coherency. ]
