WARNINGS: Eh…will update.
How sad…
[ Tristan stands up from where he’s bent over the rubble of his room, fishing out a snowglobe featuring a rather imposing castle. He looks at it with some relief before lifting his gaze up at the large gap between the rafters where their roof had been, and sighs. ]
Now you’ll both be at the mercy of the elements. Perhaps it is best if you live elsewhere for the time being.

no subject
Does that include you as well? Because if you plan on staying here, I am quite used to living at the mercy of the elements myself. [A pause.] Though Jim would need somewhere more comfortable to sleep...
no subject
So he's in the kitchen instead and looking for the various kitchen things he'd managed to collect.]
Eh. [He said with a shrug.] I spent a while in a dungeon before. I mean... [Oh hey! The pot!] The cell had a roof. But this is still better. The weather's been warming up too. So I'll stay if you two are.
no subject
You two…
[ He’s visibly distressed at how stubborn they both are as they managed to gather in the hallway, where part of the roof still remains intact. With the Holy Grail safely in the possession of his king, his most precious item here really is the snowglobe.
The sexy Santa costume can burn in a fire]The repairs will take some time. Though we have plenty of timber, I know very little of carpentry. And I am not certain that any wood we procure from the forest will not be cursed.

You're right, it's a good thing this happened in spring rather than winter. [Now if only the weather would stay clear...he doesn't have much hope for that though, what with his bad luck and all.] If we do stay here, we should find something to cover us in case of rain--ah, and as for carpentry, I can say that I have some experience with it myself.
[Tiny fistpump!]
no subject
Hey anything you two know is probably more than what I know. [Which is nothing.] But getting some cover up would be good. Spring tends to be rainy, right?
[Or is that...just where he comes from?] ...I wonder if the oven's still okay?
no subject
I can scavenge the needed materials.
[ He’s got super speed and super strength on his side here. They’ll get through this in no time!!
No they won’t]But oh, Jim, I fear that you must make use of the fireplace for the time being…
no subject
[Glancing in that direction as he says it--this whole house is a mess.]
....Perhaps I could roast us some meat for dinner.
no subject
Well...that's a pity. I was really bonding with that oven.
[He didn't even burn anything in it anymore! RIP, wood oven. Hopefully the next one won't be too different.
There's a brief pause at Xie Lian's suggestion. He doesn't want to be rude but he has doubts about Xie Lian's cooking.
...well, it'll probably just be like when his mom cooks. He'll just...help it along.]
I could help. Cooking's always more fun with more people.
no subject
Unfortunately I must deprive you of his…expertise, Jim. Xie Lian, you are the most experienced in carpentry out of all of us, therefore I insist upon your help. It is urgent that we have a roof over our heads before the elements catch us unawares.
no subject
Xie Lian gives Archer a look - not offended, just sort of like. Really?]
...Well, I suppose we could always cook together another day. It really is more fun together, you're right, but it's true that having shelter from the weather takes precedence at the moment.
no subject
But he definitely noticed that pause too. Surely it couldn't be that bad...?]
Well, I'm pretty much useless with the roof so I'll make sure to have something good prepared for when you're done.
[...as soon as he finds more things other than just a pot. Like some knives.]
no subject
Also, you’re welcome, Jim. ]
Yes, well, we must store away our treasures for the time being.
[ Can’t do any proper carpentry whilst lugging around stuff like snow globes and all! ]
You seem to have quite the small collection there, Xie Lian.
no subject
[A cheerful smile for Jim! before he moves to continue clearing up some of this junk.]
Ah, I suppose I do, don't I? Though I wouldn't call any of them treasures, really... [He tugs out a smashed chair from under some debris.]
...I was planning to see if I could fix up the things I found, but I suppose some of them might have to be repurposed as firewood instead.
no subject
[Bright side! He's found one!
And also he's found a spatula! And it's not broken!] We should get water to wash everything.
no subject
But then, his former roommate had been like that, too. He tamps down that thought, however, with a nod at Jim’s suggestion. ]
So we need timber, water, and firewood—mayhap new furniture as well.
[ He places a reassuring hand on Xie Lian’s shoulder. You tried your best, bro. ]
What else might we need? I had thought little of such concerns when I was living alone some months ago.
no subject
[But hmmm, other things...he looks down at his smashed chair, which cheerfully manages to fall apart even more under his scrutinizing gaze.]
...Are our food stores still alright?
no subject
[He is used to a lot of conveniences but, again. He's learned to live without them before.]
I haven't found anything yet, but we're lucky that it's been winter. If we had any berries or tomatoes or anything like that it definitely wouldn't have survived.
[As it was, winter vegetables were a lot more sturdy! He's hoping it will just be a bit squished or bruised or something like that. Damaged but still useable.]
no subject
Then I can seek out game as well as timber.
[ They’re growing boys, after all. ]
But other than that… [ There’s definitely a softness to his voice as he continues, ] Are you two truly all right? That is…an attack of this magnitude is unprecedented.
no subject
[There's only one growing boy in this house, and it's not Xie Lian....he gives Archer a soft smile though, grateful for the other man's worry.]
I truly am fine, myself. While I admit I've never experienced a dragon attack before, the loss of a house is something I've grown accustomed to over the years.
