[ It makes for an easy trek through the snow when not one but two people are like living furnaces. Pyra is, and always will be, never appropriately dressed for the weather, with the only addition to her typical outfit a long scarf she has wrapped about her neck. She doesn't need it, of course, but it was too fluffy not to wear.

Talk about your strengths with a red, the message had said. Were it only so simple. ]

I've been thinking. [ She tells him as they walk, hands linked behind her back. ] About what to wish for. And I can't seem to narrow it down to just one. [ She smiles a bit playfully. ] Think I can wish for more wishes?

[ That's probably not how it goes, and she knows it (not that she actually believes that any of these wishes will come true). Still, it makes for an interesting conversation piece. ]

Oh, and does she ever need help with something. Caroling. That is, singing. It is a quest, and it is something that needs to be done. Only, Pyra is not some sort of songstress, and if she does indeed have any memories of holiday carols from a time long past, that information is wholly blocked to her. So what else can she do but turn to another for a bit of help. ]

Here you go, Tsumugi... [ She says to him courteously, setting down a cup of tea down in front of him. Pyra had invited him to the home in Bluo to which she had been assigned, and even if their first meeting hadn't gone as smoothly as one might have hoped, she appreciates him being here nonetheless. ] So. What's the first thing one should know when singing?

[ As luck would have it, the message of Have a good time with a yellow that had appeared on her computer might not be all that difficult to fulfill. All it takes is her walking into the Flavo district and finding a Yellow and asking them for a bit of their time.

For singing, that is.

And so they are currently outside, with Pyra having built a fire to keep the both of them warm as they practice. Or rather, for him to keep warm since she's perfectly fine dressed as she is, despite all appearances. ]

...Think we should try harmonizing on that last part?

Tsumugi, [ Her hand curls up to her chest, covering just over where her heart might be within. ] That was beautiful.

[ ah... he should be used to receive such warm praise from people, but it still feels wrong somehow. in any case he'll smile and bear it with a sheepish chuckle, scratching the back of his head. ]

Ahaha, thank you, Pyra-san. It's an awfully simple song though; I'm sure you can pull it off just as well!

....You want me to try following that? [ She looks surprised. Like, c'mon, does he expect her own voice to be any good in comparison??

Surprised, and shy. ]

[ nods! ] The song's easy enough, and it's not like we're going to be graded on our performance...

[ they're not in hell idol school, thankfully enough. though there is that suspicious guy who keeps giving them quests... hm. ]

And even if your voice isn't up to par yet, the most important thing is that you've given your all into it. Not everyone in Chroma sings as a career, so no one should be able to judge you on that.

[ Alright, here goes.....?

And she begins to sing. A bit shyly at first, but at the end she's doing a little better. Her voice isn't the best, but she's able to keep an even sound without the pitch cracking.

In fact, the intonation of how she sings the carol might seem just as he had deigned to sing it, as if an exact replica. Perhaps this makes it actually good because of following his lead, but at the same time it's lacking quite a bit of passion to it, making it a hollow shell of the actual song. In effect, it's lacking passion. ] Like so?

[ oh, that's.. hm. ]

You sound perfect, Pyra-san.

[ too perfect, which is quite troubling, honestly. the lack of passion in her otherwise decent performance kind of reminds him of his old self back then, in fact. ]

But you need to relax. You don't have to follow my every intonation; just do it like... you. [ a sheepish laugh ] That probably doesn't make sense, but people will tell that you're not putting your all into it if you sound just as dead inside. Especially when we're celebrating the holidays.

[pyrafect]

[ Dead inside.... ouch. She can't help but cringe a little in embarrassment. ] Ah, yes... right. [ A pause. ]

You're. Are you talking about using something to inspire how you sing?

[ With passion. With joy. She has neither of those things, not right now, but... the point of the song-- of wishing others might be merry--... that she can do. Because that's all she wants for others, for them to be safe and happy. ]

Yes. [ a nod. ] It doesn't have to be too extravagant; you can find inspiration in the simplest of things in everywhere you go, like the smiles of people that you'd be singing to once we get out there.

[ give him a moment to sip his tea, thinking of more things to add on. ]

It's tough at first, but you'll get there. We all do.

[ mostly. ]

Alright... Here goes.

[ She'll take a sip of her tea to clear her throat before beginning.... And this time she does a bit better! There's a little more of her own unique emotion to it, rather than just hitting the notes simply for the sake of staying on tune. It's easier to sing, she realizes, when she pretends that there is something important to sing about or for whom to sing...

And when she's done with the (repetitive) verse, she stops and blinks as if surprised at it herself. ]

--Oh. I... think I understand what you're saying, now.

[fineprinted]

[ oh, now that's a singing voice. tsumugi claps softly, excitedly at her much better take of it. ]

That's more like it! ♪ You sure have a lovely voice, Pyra-san... You'll be able to go far with it when you practice hard enough.

[ repetition really is the way to go. now that that's done, tsumugi drains the last of his tea and rises up from his seat. ]

Now, let's put that to the test, shall we? We can carol at one house for now, just to slowly ease you through it.

[ Aw geeze a performance already? She suddenly looks nervous... but she nods nonetheless. ]

Alright, I’m ready.

Do you have anyone in particular in mind we should sing to?

[ he goes quiet for a moment to think, then his face lights up. ]

Actually, I do.

[ come on, come on! tsumugi will lead her by the hand out of her place and onto the streets. ]

Do you know Choubee Aza? I bet he'd like it if someone were to carol at his place right now -- he's been so lonely by himself.

Choubee? Yes! I do know him; he’s one of the first people I met in Chroma...

[ Pyra will gladly be led by the hand over to where Choubee may live. She looks over To Tsumugi excitedly. ] Shall we make it a surprise for him?

Great idea! He won't even see it coming, fufu. ♪

[ it's... not that hard to find choubee's place, honestly; just find the one house that looks empty as fuck. ]

Is he even home, though... [ knock, knock ] In any case, we should try anyway in case he's asleep. Ready?

[ She giggles. ]

He's going to be so surprised to see us, I'm sure. [ Pyra whispers excitedly to Tsumugi, waiting patiently for the door to open. ] I'm ready.

[ Listen... his house might be empty of roommates and any real furnishing, but he's got the bare minimum and that's what matters.

He's surprised to hear a knock, however, reaching for whatever solid object is nearest to him before opening the door --
