Quest 34 - Joshua

[Estelle had taken one look at the cuddling quest and known exactly who she needed to find.... immediately. Luckily, she and Joshua occupied the same house.

Wherever he is in the house or outside of it, soon enough he's getting pounced by a very happy Estelle from behind.]

[Her tone is singsong. She might be skipping a few steps here, whoops.]

Quest 33 - Sinistra

['Track down the sphinx' eh? Didn't seem all that hard, not that Estelle knew what a sphinx was. Luckily, her partner in this hunt did, and she'd happily tugged him along as soon as she realized.

She seems in good spirits as she makes her way through the forest, keeping an eye out for signs of a big creature having passed through.]

You said it's part big cat, right? That's kind of distinctive, so we shouldn't have too much trouble finding it..... I think.

[ Sinistra is as gloomy as always, and he feels a little bad about tromping into the forest without his brother when he had promised to tell him.

Still, Estelle seemed like one who needed help and he had gained a little knowledge on the subject in the library while he desperately hunted for an answer about his own situation. He might as well watch out for her. She was more reckless than he was. ]

Yes... it seemed to be something rather large, too. But, understanding where it would live in this environment. That, I am not sure about.

[It's ok Sinistra, she'd keep it a secret... If she actually knew what he'd promised in the first place. Whoops. In spite of her recklessness, Estelle does in fact seem pretty comfortable with the idea of tracking a monster down, with her staff slung over her shoulder casually as she makes her way deeper into the forest.]

Maybe there's a cave somewhere.....? Honestly, It's not really the kind of environment I'd expect for a monster like you described... Usually the big flying ones like open spaces with lots of nesting spots.

[Hiding out in some old ruins, or in some mountains, maybe-- But a forest, though? It was pretty unusual in her experience.]

[ Sinistra usually just... stumbles on monsters? Tracking them is still new, but he's good at being quiet. He's got his sword. He's got his coat. It's all good. Probably.

He looks at her and shrugs his shoulders. ]

Maybe... all we can do is look and hope to find it, I imagine. We know it is big and needs space to move. It mentioned it being a guardian, so it must stay in one location.

[ Joshua is indeed in the house, cleaning up the kitchen after the last meal. There's not much left, so he's waved off any help that was offered - you can't fit that many people at the sink to do dishes, and he's quick at it, so why don't they go take care of whatever else, or check if the mysterious Mr. White's given them some new tasks yet (it's about the right time of month for that, isn't it?), and he's got this.

When Estelle pounces, he's jolted forward - just a little bit, enough to splash himself with the dishwater but not enough to fall in. ]

I didn't think I was taking that long.

[Whoooops-- she might not have taken into account the dishes, but she also knew that Joshua had more than enough balance to handle a little tackle hug from behind. She tucks her arms more firmly around him, grinning sheepishly.]

You weren't! But that white guy sent us another couple of quests, and I figured I'd get a headstart on one of them.

[That??? Answers nothing, Estelle.]

Probably yeah. It might need to move around a bit to hunt and stuff, but if it has reason to stick to a localized area it should be easier to find, right? It'll leave traces, I think.

[Estelle is far from a tracking expert, that's Joshua's thing, but she's not hopeless at least. Thank goodness for bracer bootcamp.

If something big was hanging around in one area, it'd leave it's mark after awhile. Trails, scratches, flattened plant life-- That was common sense.

Estelle keeps her eyes scanning the distance, and she nods towards what looks like a rocky outcropping between the trees a ways off.]

How about we check that out?

[ The important thing is that no dishes were broken. His shirt will dry off in five minutes, but a smashed dish is forever. ]

You're going to need to give me a little more than that to go on.

[Fair, Ignis would probably be pretty annoyed if they wrecked one of their limited supply of dishes.]

'Cuddle under a blanket with someone else' is what it said. Nice and easy, right?

[Nice, easy..... and--

Well, no one ever claimed Estelle lacked in enthusiasm.]

I knew right away who would be my first choice as a partner for this one.

Yes, I believe so. Even so, if there is magic to it that helps it stay hidden... I am not sure of the extent of its abilities in that sense.

[ Fairytales are only so helpful. They tend to be vague and more focused on morals. The town would not make it so easy for them by giving them a reference.

Sinistra keeps his hand on his sword as he walks beside her, looking around for evidence of a big body occupying a space among the dense trees. Other than that, he's got no idea what to look for.

He stands up straight when she speaks suddenly. Oh... there? ]

We might as well try.

[ Ah. She would, and it gives him a warm feeling that has nothing to do with her body heat.

Out of everyone in the world, how is he lucky enough to be the person she'd choose? ]

In that case, shouldn't we find a blanket?

[Estelle has her head comfortable tucked against his shoulder at this point, close enough that he can probably feel the smile on her face. She really loved the way he felt in her arms....

Really, how were they both so lucky?

Though she very quickly flushes when he points out the lack of blanket.

Whoops....?]

Oh... eheheh... right! Totally!

[She absolutely, 100% forgot they needed to include that detail.

She even said it a second ago, goodness.]

Let me finish drying this and then we can go get one.

[ Technically, he could suggest she get one while he finishes, but...but she's warm against his back. ]

Right. Got it.

[And Estelle is just going to take the opportunity to hide her burning cheeks in Joshua's shoulder while he works. By the time he finishes hopefully she'll stop blushing.]

[ He works fast, at least, so it's not long before he's stepping back from the sink - carefully, so as not to jolt her around. ]

Okay, that should do it. Shall we?

[Estelle will step back with him, though unfortunately she does have to disentangle herself from draping around Joshua's shoulders so they can actually get moving.

Fortunately, enough time has passed that she isn't blushing anymore, so that's good.]

Right! Should we take it to our room, or....?
