What: Guren has lost some color (and some emotion with it)! It's kind of a "come bug me" log I'm sorry

[He comes back together with Izuku and All Might, and once they part ways, there's a surprising lack of worry in his mind. He's distantly aware that he should get inside, hide out somewhere and reassure people with his laptop that he's fine. But there's no sinking feeling in his gut, no real interest behind the actions. It's all strangely similar, though he can't quite center in on why.

Anyway, there are people in his house, too. Yuu, in his room. The others throughout the house made for three people and housing five. There's Dextera, who'd likely look for him even if he assured him over text that he was fine, and he doesn't have the time to stay at home and hide out, with all that he has to do, either.

So, he heads to the usual places, does his usual things, and doesn't look all that bothered. It might be hard to tell that he's colorless until you take a second glance, since his uniform is largely black, but it's clear if you're facing him directly. His eyes have lost color completely, his skin is pale in a way that's almost sickly, the red has drained from the accents on his uniform, and even the red of his sword has drained away. These all slowly come back over time, so the earlier the date, the more noticeable it is.]

What are you looking at? [Calm, bored really, he doesn't even have the usual annoyance on his expression as he glances over from what he's doing. Walking home, just leaving his hidden apothecary, training near the edge of the forest the next few days, gathering fruits and vegetables from the gardens or bringing back anything he can plant. He's just kind of... there.]

(OOC: And obviously feel free to wildcard me even more than this prompt already is and find him anywhere or work out a specific scenario with me!!)

[Akira's in the kitchen when he comes home, putting together what food that have into something of a dinner. He knew Guren had gone somewhere, but not where, so at first he isn't all that worried.]

Welcome ba-

[And then he sees what Guren looks like, and stops, narrowing his eyes.]

What happened?

[Oh. So it wasn't just Izuku, was it? It's clear that he can't let Izuku go off with Guren and All Might- what happened? Did they all urge each other into something stupid?

Probably.]

You. You're colorless. What happened in the forest?

[ Sinistra's only path the past week or so has been him walking back and forth from the library with a few divergent trips to see his brother. He doesn't keep tabs on anyone else and lets people come to him if they need him.

Guren always makes it perfectly clear that he can take care of himself and, after all the lecturing he's had so far, Sinistra has decided to hold him to it. He's fine. He can handle anything, right?

So, on his way back, the Guren that looks like a hazy memory coming back into view is not one he bares concern for. He just gives him a stern look. ]

You look off. That's all.

[ guren had to know that dextera would come over as soon as he failed to answer dextera’s questions. he’s usually efficient like that, after all, even when he’s falling apart—for him to just stop replying, no matter how “safe” he says he is, means that something is wrong.

he does check his sun pendant, but it’s still fine, which is a relief. it’s not enough of a relief to make him stay home.

so it’s off to guren’s house he goes, as soon as possible, and by now he’s comfortable enough with the people who live there that he actually does just let himself in. ]

I went too far into the forest.

[Casually, he says that while jabbing his thumb over his shoulder to reference which way he came from. Easy, simple! More importantly, he's stepping over to peer at that food.]

Is this dinner?

[swordfucker]

Nothing.

[It's not exactly a lie, considering they ran into shit-all. He stops walking so he can face Shouto, at least.]

When we got too far, it felt like we were being crushed. We turned back.

[swordfucker]

[Oh, Sinistra. It's enough that Guren stops once he's close enough, considering that comment with a glance down at a faded hand. He doesn't even wear his gloves anymore, they got so ruined months ago.]

Some of my color drained away. It'll probably come back in time.

[swordfucker]

[Uh oh, he's in trouble.

Normally, he'd care more about this. Logically, he knows he should. From memory, he knows he should. But the emotions themselves aren't there, and that makes it a lot more difficult to consider his own actions.

Dextera will find him in his room, like always. His roommates are there to help direct him, if he doesn't know to go there automatically, probably. But he's crouched in front of his bookshelf, back to the door, rearranging a couple of items on it.

He's not turning to face him on purpose. He can tell from the footsteps who it is.]

You shouldn't have come over.

[glaciers]

You're colorless.

[He doesn't feel like that's really nothing, all things considered.]

Did you stay while you were being crushed?

[bisection]

[ his color drained? So the color effects could hinder humans too? ]

What happens? When your color drains, what happens to you?

[swordfucker]

Not completely.

[He corrects that, first of all. His skin isn't grey, even if his eyes are— it's sickly pale, but not drained completely.]

It was happening too rapidly. Izuku and All Might made me go back with them.

[She didn't immediately notice the lack of colour on his uniform when she saw him from behind but she paused instead of running over to greet him. Call it an esper's sixth sense or female intuition or whatever but something made her feel uneasy.

When he turns around she openly frowns.]

Guren-san...you-- [And she's coming closer becauase...yeah that's...definitely not normal.] Your colour is gone.

[glaciers]

[He squints at Guren.]

You were going to stay?

[swordfucker]

...

[What happens. He stares at his hand for a moment long before dropping it.] It felt like I was dying. [Helpful]

I can't feel much of anything right now. It must dull emotions, or drain those too. It wouldn't be the first time I saw something like that happened.

[swordfucker]

Not completely.

[He's going to correct this every time, as if it helps that his eyes have completely faded and his skin looks almost sickly. He stops, at least, hand on his hip as he looks at her.]

It'll come back, probably.

[swordfucker]

I wanted to push forward just a little more.

[Like it's obvious, like he doesn't care that it's probably a bigger deal than how he's saying it.] If we got that far and it felt that oppressive, it probably meant that we were onto something. I wanted to at least see what that was, or our trip would be a waste.

[bisection]

[ a sensation he knows too well.

Sinistra frowns. Just how did he get like this? What was he trying to accomplish and why did it deserve this punishment?

He gives him a serious look.]

What causes it and when did you see it before?

The fact that any of it is gone is the problem!

[It probably would but...]

What happened?

[Right about now is when he'd normally be feeling too guilty to share any more. He'd be worried, he wouldn't want to hurt anyone else— and while that's still true, he doesn't want to hurt anyone, the worry isn't there. It's strangely empty.

Talking about it is all he can do.]

In this case, I got pretty far in the forest. Further than anyone has before, from what I know. We were using Izuku's protection from a stone he got, but then it wore off all at once, and it felt crushing.

Before... I went in with a group and watched a demon steal all of the color from someone, and drain him of his emotions. Death also causes people to come back colorless and formless.

It seems like a default in this town for things going wrong.

[ dextera can’t quite tell yet, from this angle. he can’t see that guren has lost so much color, when his hair and uniform are both black in their most natural state.

when guren tells him off like that, not a threat but almost like it could be, his frown deepens. he crosses the room, tapping guren on the shoulder because he can’t say anything if guren won’t look at him. ]

[ Izuku. There's a name he didn't expect to hear wrapped up in this. He supposes he doesn't know as much about him.

Some panic flashes over his face. ]

Izuku went? Is he okay?

[ his brow stays furrowed. His hands curl into his shirt over his stomach.

So this is the image of death here? Or something close to it, it sounds. Instead of peace, you find a temporary emptiness. And the creatures could put this upon one as well.

He sighs out slowly through his nose. ]

Are you hurt? Has my brother seen you?

[swordfucker]

Apparently this is what happens if you go too far in the forest with protection. We got past the usual things without an issue, but then when it wore off, this happened.

[He gestures at himself.]

[swordfucker]

[Knowing this is bad, even with the emptiness inside, is why he tries not to look. The tap gets him to pause for a few seconds, but there's a knowledge that he'll upset Dextera if he doesn't look now. He'll upset Dextera if he does, too... So maybe it's all unavoidable.

But even with dulled emotions, he can't ignore him completely. So he turns and stands, blinking at him with gray eyes and a pale face.]

I told you I was fine. I'm alive, I'm not hurt.

[swordfucker]

He's the same as me.

[So, okay in a sense and not in others? Probably.] I'm not hurt. Even if I was, it would have healed by now. Dextera saw me last night.

[theshowsover]

[That was... way too casual. Even for Guren. But the fact that it was the forest doesn't really surprise Akira.]

...It is.

[Not much of anything: some stew he managed to put together with some of the weird deer meat, and some fruits and veggies from the garden. But it's enough.]

Was it the mirrors or the demons? Or something else this time?
