t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. [He'll maybe remember to ask later but right now it doesn't seem too important. He's also a little on guard to make sure he's not about to suddenly get pushed off the roof or tricked, but that happens when a majority of adults you know are monsters trying to kill you.]

I was with the second group. It's been a couple of months now but I can't say I'm surprised you guys showed up, too.

[...Sadie says this with a laugh, because she's just joking. That would be way too much of a coincidence to be real.]

Yeah, I'll stick to Brooklyn, thanks. My luck's weird enough as it is without bad luck on top of it. [Which is putting it mildly.] Ooh, I've always wanted to go to Venice on holiday. Got a bit too busy for that, though. [And now they're in this weird, colorless town, so... no vacations for them.]

[That's the mildest way to explain her feelings on them, and those will certainly intensify once she's able to experience one firsthand. Still, she gives a small shrug, trying to appear unbothered.]

Are you thinking of trying them out?

[Maybe the well is a rogue god!! ...wouldn't be the first time something like that has turned out to be sentient. Probably won't be the last.]

At least we're both here. It's better than being stuck here alone.

[It sounds sincere, but she still has to take a moment to deliberate about whether he's just using incredibly dry sarcasm. She shakes it off after a moment, smirking, and her next remark sounds approving despite what she actually says.]

[But after his question, she gives a quick nod, crossing her arms over her waist.]

Yeah. It's... [Weird doesn't begin to cover it.] It doesn't make any sense, does it?

[She's still not sold on the idea that there simply isn't a good explanation, but she moves on quickly.]

[ That makes sense, even if it isn't immediately very helpful. Ari nods, then pauses, something occurring to him. ]

[ He hasn't yet noticed the letter within his vest, and he doesn't know that there is housing provided to the people summoned here. Instead, he frets about how he'll pay for a room to stay in when he's landed in another world that probably doesn't use sukel as currency. ]

[She pauses, but then, with a sigh, reaches out to take it.]

[ Oh boy. That's... a difficult question, considering Ari feels particularly unremarkable compared to the other people he's seen since he arrived here.

Somehow he thinks being the winner of the first and only Stan Cup Shadow Contest isn't exactly the sort of thing most people would be impressed by. ]
