t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? [Unfortunately for Nico, he'll be tiredly shadow-stepping right into a house with two dads barring whether or not Shiro decides to abandon this said ship for the other Voltron babies. Sasuke actually wouldn't judge Shiro for it.

But Nico's comment gets a small smile out of him anyway, or maybe it's simply the fact Nico is getting comfortable in the claimed room.]

Are you very opposed to the color yellow?

[Only one window is present, but it's enough for Sasuke, even lacking a curtain. He may put one up later when he finds bits of extra cloth. For now, he stands by it and peers out, surveying the view. Flavo doesn't seem to have as many gathered houses as Ruga.

Space. A lot of land. Hm... Sasuke squints gently at something outside, and then he turns to lean back on the sill of the window, gaze lowering to Nico.]

( the apology's unnecessary, as was this guy's assumption of how needy vampires are. but yuu gets over it fast enough anyway, moves easy from being ticked off at him from refocusing on what's happening now. the past happened, he's never going to get over it. but being pissed and sad about it isn't going to get yuu anywhere here, especially not now. )

That's okay. I can deal with it. This place isn't that weird from what I've seen of it. And Guren's still here so I'm not completely on my own anyway.

I see. Guess I'll return the favor. I was born in the States, but I moved to London to live with my Gran and Gramps when I was younger. Then I moved out to Brooklyn about a year ago. [For, uh, various reasons.] Which part of New York is your stomping grounds?

If he's someone that can give out rewards, he can probably give out punishments, too— and I don't want that, especially if everyone's been working together.

[ Two dads is one too many at a time, Shiro can be more like a big brother instead if he sticks around this place. Though why Shiro would want two Keiths is a mystery.

He shrugs as he puts his laptop on the floor next to him, then digs around his pockets. There's clearly a few somethings in them and Nico doesn't remember having all of it. ]

I guess not. It's okay in small doses. [ A hesitant pause where Nico stops moving around. ] Mostly it reminds me of someone who's... probably not here.

[ The way he says it is with mixed emotions, as if likes said person but doesn't want to admit that much out loud. As Sasuke is taking in the view Nico is unloading his pockets and placing objects on top of the closed laptop lid.

First up is what looks to be a small worn figurine, then a battered scroll. Last is about a dozen dark red seeds - pomegrante seeds which Nico stares down at for the longest time. These can't possibly be... seeds from his stepmother's garden, can they? ]

Hey, did you end up with something you shouldn't have? As in, you were no where near it but it ended up in your pocket.

[ Though he probably shouldn't have them in the sense that these could be pretty bad for him. ]

( what the heck guren. why does he know weird stuff like how someone's voice sounds but no one else knows. is he playing around with drugs like that one person said? well whatever. maybe they're just great friends and this dude somehow managed to allow guren to listen to it even if he lost it.

Seems like Guren knows a lot of stuff. And that you know a lot about him.

( if the whole town did die because of him--yuu wouldn't be surprised. upset? maybe. probably. unless it was on purpose to bring the dead back to life and then they'd all come back anyway. but sasuke's right? he can't argue against that either. )

Mika used to chain me to a wall when it took over.

[He catches the rope as it comes down, listening to her instructions.

[He does so quickly, testing it to make sure it's going to hold. Then he turns back to the rope.

( nah. no need for sympathy, the adults were all bad anyway. the vampire part was kind of awful and so were the murders but. this guy wasn't here for that, yuu's not really expecting him to be sad over it. )

Both, if you can believe that. [He's not wrong. This is very much a "work for it" kind of place, but they've been fortunate enough to have some experiences where it's worked out in their favor. Given that John lives in Ruga, he's working off of memory for the closest storage depot between where he found Jotaro and where Ruga actually starts.] Sometimes we get things from home as a quest reward, but like a couple of months ago these portals opened up and people were able to jump through them and bring back stuff from home.

Nico doesn't ask why she moved to live with her grandparents, in the case that her parents died. Instead he merely nods when she gets to the part about moving to Brooklyn. ] Long Island. At least I've been living there for last few months. Shortly after I got to the States I spent a few years in Las Vegas.

Long Island, huh? A few girls at my school go to a camp up there. Can't say I've ever been myself, though. [She makes a goofy face - what she says next, she doesn't really think is all that serious.] That side of the river's bad luck, or so my uncle says.

Of all the places you've lived, which would be best to visit?

Excellent. That means we live in the same district. [ she pushes back a strand of her behind her ears with a grin. ] I'm working on making the Flavo church look livable again, but you should see me around regardless.

... They aren't like your half siblings? Or are they less... related to the god?

Not the gods, technically. Well, kind of the gods? The pharaohs were gods on earth and all, they hosted them. But we're descended from the actual people. Me, I'm related to Ramesses the Great on my mum's side and Narmer on my dad's. Kind of a double-whammy, you might say. Most magicians are only related to one pharaoh.

[She shrugs, looking proud of herself.]

But, y'know, they lived thousands of years ago. So their kids had kids, and their illegitimate kids had kids, and thousands of years later there are magicians all over the world with some magic in their blood because they got busy.

Not initially, but you're always free to move somewhere else. [ she smiles a little, glad to give some good news in this. it's the little things! ] The good news of this town is that, for all the ups and downs, we are relatively free to live in peace. As long as you aren't doing anything criminal of course.

[ honestly, people here seem to be more on the law-abiding side than not. lucky for a town of so many different types of people, from different walks of life. ]

[There's a church in Flavo. He remembers it from the map, but now he has a person to associate with it.]

[Ah... Sasuke's face softens oddly when Nico admits the yellow is a reminder of someone. It feels as if the boy took words right out of his mouth, and, for a moment, he wonders if it's some kind of trick. Maybe the boy actually read his mind, how he felt.

But his mouth closes before he can say anything, and his gaze falls down to the things Nico is putting on top of the laptop.] I don't think so. I am actually missing some things I should have. [Pushing off the window, he wanders over and stops a foot or so from Nico to watch.

Pomegranate seeds?] You came with a supply.

Do they mean anything to you?
