Event Ten.

Little Willie, mean as hell,
Pushed his sister in a well.
Mother said, while drawing water,
"My, it's hard to raise a daughter."

t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well.

(And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!)

What now?

Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here!

[ Either this girl likes to be dramatic or she's just bored - both a strong possibility all things considered.

Compared to others who have wandered by, Nico might seem to be an actual native to this colorless village and he may be slightly regretting not having a splash of color in his wardrobe. Even if he's turned down more orange camp t-shirts than he can count. ]

What you should do is set up on some bridge where people can't avoid you and make people pay some sort of toll to pass. Maybe in the form of information.

[ Don't encourage her, Nico. ]

[Maybe she'll turn him upside down later. Much later. Because right now that prank wouldn't be as funny as it should be, because it'd remind her of a friend now gone and that was the last thing she wanted.]

I've spent years practising! [And then because this was something that every seems to like...] I could take you flying!

[Val doesn't see it while he's busy trying to bat the fairies away. The coin does hit him, but it doesn't seem to do much to him otherwise.

... Did he even notice he was hit by a coin? It's hard to say.

But he does turn back towards Jotaro, now that most of the fairies near him are defeated. He's sure more of them will show up soon enough.

"What happened to you?" His voice is still shot, so he can only gesture at his temporary comrade.]

Someone I know showed up, and they'll only end up hurting themself if I'm not there...

[ That's just the facts. Lottie may recognize that the unusual paleness of their skin and the sparkly-ness of their hair may give an Important Hint to this other person's identity, even if she's unaware that they're living rocks. There's a sigh, like they're annoyed but not annoyed at her specifically, while they readjust their hold on their belongings. ]

Anyway, I don't know much about those computers, but you should at least find where you're supposed to be using it. I've been living in Flavo since half a year ago, so I know my around.

[ AKA, they can help her figure out where this damn computer turns on. ]

[ -_- ]

Stop trying to act cool, idiot, you sound like an off-brand of that one guy.

[ That "one guy" being Guren... y'all both lame. ]

Anyway, aren't you a little more concerned about where you are? You're acting like this is just a road trip and we just took a wrong turn.

Well, he wasn't really a doctor. Just the closest we had to one. And he used his wings! It'd be kind of weird for him to use his legs or beak, wouldn't it? [Since his feet were always on the ground and his beak was...yeah.]

And he was like...this tall? [She gestures with her hand indicating a pretty much human sized pigeon.]

Same here!

[Meeting new people is always fun.]

I don't think I've ever seen a guy with that much hair besides Magi-san.

Young Midoriya...

[All Might spots those tears, and, compared to the deafening yelling and theatrics of just a second ago, he reaches to pull him into a gentle hug.]

It's good to see you too, my boy. Sorry I didn't come sooner. [Even if it couldn't be helped, he knows that for Izuku, they'd been apart for far too long. He can only imagine how much this means to him.]

[ Her body language is enough to express her distaste -- or at least give Crowley the vague idea that he's probably the last person she wants to see. If she can see past his appearances and see the monster he truly is is unbeknownst to him, though that's only because he generally assumes most aren't aware. ]

I'm someone who was brought here like yourself, my name's Crowley Eusford. Crowley's just fine.

[ He tilts his head to one side, shifting his weight onto one foot. ]

There's no need for you to get your defenses up, I'm not gonna try cooking you or anything now!

Performing CPR and giving a blood transfusion isn't bringing someone back to life! That's just normal treatment.

[She just went there. Though she's perfectly familiar with modern concepts, making her more defensive.]

I'm saying that if someone is completely dissolved by acid and I only have the bones, I can do it! That's the level of a goddess. You can't say you're even near my skill!

[ To be perfectly honest, ending up in the bottom of a well isn't the strangest thing that's ever happened to him. Since the liquid is clearly water or something non-lethal, Nico isn't worried about getting out. He much prefers this to ending up hundreds of feet above a volcano without a parachute. ]

Looked pretty similar to me, cat. [ If Mogget is going to call him 'boy', then Nico will return the favor. ] All right, hang on then because it'd be a shame if you fell off mid-jump.

[ The feeling of wet fur against his neck isn't all that unfamiliar considering the type of coat he tends to wear but waits for Mogget to settle in. Even sink his claws in if necessary. Nico will give the cat a moment to adjust if need be.

Then it appears as if they melt into the darkness of the well and there's nothing but endless black all around - even trying to see each other is impossible though being able to feel the kid's shoulders will tell the cat that he isn't alone. It's deathly cold, perhaps even more so with Mogget being soaked and there's a series of strange but undefinable noises all around them.

As suddenly as it begins, it ends and Nico steps out of the dark shadow of a tree near the well. Seeing as how it was a short trip with a small passenger, the shadow-travel doesn't drain Nico a whole lot. ]

There you go. Out of the well to somewhere drier.

[ A nod of his head and Nico gets to his feet, brushing off his pants. ]

Then I'll see you around when you're ready to keep our promise.

["I was a dumbass" would be the answer if Jotaro's brain weren't addled, but as it is he fires another coin, this one blasting into a tree instead of hitting the fairy he thought he was aiming at.]

Hold still, you little-- [He words are slurring a little, like he's tired or drunk, and he doesn't even register Val trying to get his attention.]

Then— you are probably out of luck.

[ It didn't seem like hair ties were that big of a thing in the original Chroma, but they give a pause while they try to come up with an alternative solution. ]

There are some elastics and strings in the library for tying up books, [ They gesture the length of these alleged strings with their gloved hands. ] But they're pretty old. That's about the closest thing this place has.

[She was just trying to help...how did she accidentally complete a quest she had every intention of ignoring???]

Well, I can never have too many cute girls as friends.

[And all girls are cute.

Look, she's trying not to comment because she feels like only children blurt out all the questions they think of but Kaoru has always been bad at keeping out of other people's business and she's seen enough family's with problems (too many) that she can't help but want to do something.

She sits back and yes, it's in mid air so technically it makes no difference in terms of making her more relaxed but she's never liked being still.]

Was everything okay between you two? I mean, teenage girls can be a handful! [She laughs a little.] I should know, right? We don't always make it easy.

[ nice to know she's being somewhat reassuring despite her Dark Talk... though really, he might just be saying that to make her feel less terrible.

regardless, aigis smiles carefully at him. she'd tell him not to worry, because if there were anything in the water she would definitely Help Him, but. that's probably not a good thing to say to someone who's already nervous about the possibility of it, so.

she'll latch onto his topic change instead, eager to ease his nerves. ]

Not at all. I've been making slow progress... I didn't want to miss anything, so there is still "other stuff" for me as well.

[ and she got distracted by the harbor, but she's not going to drag the conversation back to the water.

she seems to mull over something for a small moment, before offering: ]

Would you like to go through the rest of the town together? They say two pairs of eyes are better than one.

[ that is not the phrase, aigis. ]

[It's hard to tell exactly what's wrong with him. It clearly isn't what happened to Val.

As much as the coin didn't do much to him he's pretty sure Jotaro is a hazard for anybody else who encounters him like this.

He can't yell to get his attention and attacking him directly seems immediately like a terrible decision. They haven't finished clearing this area of fairies just yet.

Val has no ability to heal anyone but himself either. So his best option is... what?

He moves towards Jotaro and... starts shaking him gently. At the very least he'll get his attention, right?]

Prove it!

[It's a bad faith challenge: he doubts there are any conveniently discovered corpses nearby, and he wants to see her fail for belittling the absolute bullshit he's pulled to save his family.]

Do you plan on breaking your neck or something? I don't advocate suicide....

[A pause.]

....if you're suicidal, you should seek help.

Well... to call them a human would probably be a long stretch, but that wouldn't be entirely wrong. [ Still, that's a lot of information he's not even aware of, nor does he think this person really cares for specifics. Details can wait, he silently assumes, and shrugs his shoulders. ]

What I'm saying is that it's not entirely impossible.

[ :3c ]

Alright~ Get ready~ [ He's not listening to him. ] One, two, three!

[ And he tosses him up -- except not all the way, only a good couple of feet into the air before he's sent falling back down into his arms. Whew. ]

That's the first one, are you ready for the second?

Mm, yeah, but this well is pretty deep... and we're running out of clothes...

[ He holds up the sad excuse for a clothes ladder, which would have been a lot more useful with a hook or a grappling device at the end. Alas. ]

I don't want to come on too strong by taking off my pants in front of someone I haven't traded names with yet, so maybe we have to think of something else...?

Not much. This town, when it isn't being attacked by creatures from the forest here and there, is a rather sleepy town.

We can take turns with cleaning and cooking. I'm bad with cooking as well, so we just have to hope neither of us end up poisoning the other. [ a pause. ] Luckily I'm a healer.

But that just means we can experiment on each other with food! [ isn't that exciting ]

[ Everything about what Jion says is easy to visualize, except for the 'organs' bit. Giving blood on the battlefield sounds like a real, plausible thing that could happen in combat situations, but organs?? Wholesale organs?

It's Momo's time to be sheepish, hands folded in front of him as if he's not quite sure what to do with them at the moment. The sound of leaves under his feet sounds deafening without words to keep them muffled. ]

...That's still pretty amazing, isn't it?! Not weird at all...! [ Hard to wrap his mind around, yeah, but not weird. ] You're really putting your own life on the line to help other people, huh...?

[ Literally giving pieces of himself... Momo has to wonder what kind of world Jion really comes from. ]

Is it something you always wanted to do?

[ ... well the pit one she can understand, akihiko might enjoy that stuff?? but why would you want to ruin someone's day okuni, why-- ]

That is a wide and mildly concerning variety.

[ mildly. ]

Is there anywhere you must report to in the end...? Or does Mr. F simply know when you have finished your objective?

[ also mildly concerning. but she pauses right after that, realizing that she'd... just kinda been dumping everything on okuni without really thinking about it. ]

Oh, um... Feel free to ignore that last question for now. I'm asking all of them... You wanted to ask your own, didn't you?
