[ if you were bored enough to do one of dave's quests or feel like adding to the list, he posted a hard copy of the quests on on a box by the entrance of the community garden. there are STRICT INSTRUCTIONS to "only take a thing from the box if you really did it" but below that in post script is "or not what do i fucking care but you have to live with the shame of being a lying liar who lies if you steal without completing stuff" so basically. there are no consequences to just reaching into the prize box and taking something unearned.OPEN: music to my ears: home is where the heart is
prizes include some handmade originals such as:
-original signed drawings By Dave, which are all horrendous and which i am fully willing to draw for you. just lmk. some of them may be really bad comics.
-various captcharoids of random stuff, featuring an improbable amount of pumpkins. why.
-some pretty rocks
-moderately decently sewn laptop cozies in terrible tacky colors and styles. he just grabbed any fabric or curtains with color and made use of them for this.
-some rocks with faces painted on, and attached notes with their names and personalities, which i will also write upon request. they are all StupidTM.
-some sheet music which actually is decent but written in dave's typical red quill ink and angular way of writing.
-some apple tarts! that actually taste good. hopefully you go by the box when they're hot, otherwise they are cold. oh well.
-coupons for things like "a personalized bedtime rap", "ten high fives", "twenty fist bumps", or a rendition of a monopoly get out of jail free card.

[ so, dave received a trio of music boxes last month. obviously as a dude who is way into music he immediately loves them. it helps that he recognizes the songs coming from each, although there's something weird about that. or not, really. it isn't like chroma can't pluck anything out of their hearts and lay it open to the world.OPEN: music to my ears: musical red bull
the easiest to figure out music box plays a mix of dave's own. this box "will allow him to see glimpses of home, places that he misses in particular, all peaceful and warm and safe, while the music is playing" and anyone who wanders by can either see what dave is seeing or see a scene of their own.
while i can customize a scene for every tag in, if you would prefer to choose one of your scenes please feel free to do so! alternately, dave is likely to see images involving a sci-fi library complete with holopad, his bedroom which was viewable in the portal event, or images from his planet, particularly the lohac stock exchange, where a great many nakkodiles seem to be Content and also really bad with money.
no matter what is seen by him, there's a soft almost-smile on his face, so that's nice. though if your character has visions you want to share, maybe he looks more confused?? he's playing the boxes as he sits in the community garden, so it's easy to come across him. ]
[ music box number two is pretty upbeat. while he plays it, anyone listening will start to feel rejuvenated; it'll feel a lot like having taken a quick power nap, apparently.OPEN: music to my ears: idk what this does actually
alternately, just like, jam to these sweet tunes. dave seems pretty pleased about it even if he doesn't particularly care about magical power naps (though that is dangerous to give to his insomniac ass even if it isn't a replacement for sleep). ]
I think these are my favorite rewards ever? Even better than the ribbons. John wrote this one.
[ meanwhile his nightmare-warding music box plays something rather lovely and calmer? it might actually be his favorite of the three, and while there's no immediate effect since he's not like sleeping or anything, he just kind of keeps rewinding it whenever it ends.WILDCARD

Jade and I composed this together, like, three years back. [ there's no small amount of affection in his tone, though he hasn't seen her in three goddamned years (evil jade does not Count, nor does dead jade). ] What d'you think? I mean, we never really did shit with it, but obviously the four of us should have started a band and toured the country. I bet the trolls would've been groupies, if groupies can be people who claim to hate everything you do but who end up following your every move like a teenage girl with a crush anyway? Jesus, every single one of them pulled pigtails.
