[Somehow, some way, they were able to all fend off the sirens from eating them, but food had still been scarce for days at a time on the island. Sleep had been even harder to get. When the boats appeared on the horizon and the lurking sirens dealt with, a wave of relief washed over him. This, he thinks, was probably one of the more grueling challenges Chroma had thrown at him.
At this point, although he has eaten small scraps of food at least once per day, they were such small rations that he's incredibly hungry--more so than normal. His stomach can probably be heard from at least a few feet away. The lack of fresh water here also meant he was parched beyond belief and anyone who got close enough would be able to see his lips are dry and there are suggestions of dark circles under his eyes.
He's too weak to move from his fairly open location even after the rescue rafts land, but when he hears someone approach he'll lift his head to try and acknowledge them.]
