t's a dark night, and the sounds of feet in the darkness are further dampened and hidden by even more magic, as they are lured away by the soft sounds of dreams that are too good to be true, leaving the Town much, much emptier than when it began.[ hey @theuniverse why can't they have five hecking minutes to celebrate no longer being in thrall to the supernatural, huh ]

It does have that affect if you've never had to deal with anything like it. Back in Hyrule, my homeland, monsters would commonly dwell outside of large populations. If nothing else, it can help ease your mind.

Oh, tons! They're all over the place outside of towns, though we keep the little ones off the roads with orbal lights usually--

We've got tons of angry, killer insects, a lot of beasts like rinociders--they've got tough armor and hit hard-- and big cats, man eating plants, giant exploding eggs, and those are a pain let me tell you...
There's a lot of flying sharks near the coast, and giant crabs that have super tough shells. And then there's the sheep.

Kyrie not leaving go of his hand once he's up is a little less endearing and more on the baffling and mildly uncomfortable side of the scale, but after a moment, Michael mentally shrugs and rolls with it. it's probably safer this way anyways. he's got the feeling that if he leaves go of this guy's hand, he'll probably turn around to find he's lost him somewhere. and that just defeats the whole point of stopping in the first place!
