( It's only after Mutsu logs off and hits the ground running that he realizes... he isn't 100% sure who he's looking for! Based on what he knows, he's looking for someone named Roxas in Bluo who can make flowers appear, though. Is Roxas a girl? A boy? Mutsu just doesn't know.

But he's going to keep an eye out for someone with magical flower powers because that's all he has. It's that or yelling in the middle of the district for Roxas. The town is small but there's still some distance to cover all the same. If he doesn't find this Roxas person soon, he's going to start yelling in the middle of the street............. )

[Roxas is definitely not considered a girl, and he doesn't think of himself as one either, so it's safe to say "boy" all the way.

Mutsu might be a little disappointed with the flower power. It's just Roxas walking around in a circle and the flowers showing up underfoot as he walks while he's wearing a participation ribbon. So there's quite a bit of colorless flowers everywhere now.]

Is that enough?

( Some time after they've gotten out of The Pit and have had a chance to recover.........

For someone who lives in Ruga, Mutsu spends a lot of time in Bluo. On one hand, he seems to have the most friends in Bluo but on the other, even if they weren't here, he's always been fond of the sea. He isn't really sure why he always comes out here because nothing ever changes. The sea is still eerie and depressing to be around but a sword can dream!

As he nears the pier, he sees a familiar figure. He's ready to call out for Dextera, )

He-- ( And that's when he remembers Dextera isn't the only one who looks like that. Oops. Which probably explains why he drags out his greeting in an almost sing-song way, ) --eeeeeyyy...!

( He can play this off. Which twin is he dealing with...... )

( Even white flowers can be nice... But it's definitely enough to help him find Roxas. It's nice to have a face to go with a name! )

I dunno~! ( He's loud. He's so loud. ) Ya might need a little more.

( He's joking. )

[Whoa... loud is okay. If a little startling.]

Huh? Really? [He looks down at the small field he's made.] I can always make more later. This should be good for two people.

[ Sinistra probably hasn't come out here since his first day. He'd been disrupted so often that it just seemed like a bad place to go.

But, sitting by the water is cooler, so he's ventured out and decided to hope that he'd be left alone.

He, of course, was totally wrong. He turns his head and looks at Mutsu with a frown. ]

Oh, it's you.

( It's definitely not Dextera but Mutsu doesn't mind too much. Even if he doesn't seem happy to suddenly have company, this is also fine. He decides he'll just see how he is and then find somewhere else to be. After all, as boisterous as he is, he's no oblivious! He can read the air and know when he is and isn't wanted, )

Checking out the water?

Really? ( He raises an eyebrow at that. He's still playing around but he can't help but tease Roxas a little more after he took his first joke a little too seriously... At the same time, though, Mutsu is also honest and optimistic. So even if he's teasing, there's a grain of truth in there. ) So you're settling for just two, huh? Why limit yourself! With a gift like this, you could treat the whole town.

( Dream big or go home, Roxas. )

( "Tell someone you feel strongly about your honest feelings."

It isn't something he'd really thought too much about. As far as Mutsu is concerned, he's an honest and open guy. Surely, everyone knows how he really feels about them. But if being honest with someone he's close to is all this takes then he knows exactly who to speak to. He still hasn't figure out exactly what to say, though... it's easier when things happen naturally and without too much planning so now that he's on the spot, everything seems silly or like it's too much.

At least they can distract themselves with their search for the day. In a search for information, they've taken to some of the abandoned and more run down homes in the area to see what they can find. Maybe they'll find books or memoirs, something that might give them information about this place. This one seems particularly run down and there are a lot of useless or broken things lying around. )

Doesn't look like there's much here...

( At least, for what they came for. But maybe Mutsu can find something else for his own home. He has some herbs from the citadel that need to be planted so maybe if he can find a box or something to keep things in? Hmm. He'll keep looking regardless. )

Mm.

[ He nods, crouching down to get closer to his reflection, trying to reach down and see if he can touch the surface. ]

It was cold before. I thought being by here would be cooler.

( The last time he was here, he was with Dextera and there was something in the water. Mutsu had assumed it was a way into their world, though, so it should be gone by now, right? He'll look over to see if there's anything there... ah, but the closer he is, it sure smells kind of musty, doesn't it? )

... Hot? ( Is that what it is? ) It's usually cooler by the water so ya aren't wrong.

[The lack of information about this place is really frustrating. Learning is something Ryouma both enjoys and considers highly important, so being in one mystery spot for a prolonged amount of time without many answers - any answers? - is enough to make him kind of stir-crazy.

Thank goodness Mutsunokami is around, though. So far their search has been fruitless, but it's easier to get through this sort of frustration with a friend. Family? Family. This whole tsukumogami thing, while Ryouma has accepted it as truth, is still a little tricky to wrap his mind around. But he'll figure it out. If nothing else, he can focus on that if this forsaken town gives him nothing else to seriously consider.

He nods at Mutsunokami's words, though, giving this particular house another quick look-over. But disappointment only grows as he realizes again that this house is more of a graveyard for things than a container for hidden treasures. He's not sure if he can even scavenge anything useful here.]

Yeah...I wouldn't be surprised if it's already been picked over.

[He wasn't the first one here, after all. That leaves plenty of time for other people to have gotten here before him. But he'll move to a pile of rubbish in a corner he didn't look into too much and toe his boot in it. Maybe something will slip out...]

( That's something else to consider. They aren't the first people here and surely the first group of people had enough people picking at the area for information. After all, they'd certainly known enough to explain to Mutsu when he first arrived. )

Maybe there's something useful around here still.

( It's less optimism because he agrees that this place doesn't appear to have much but he won't let Ryouma's spirits get down. He checks out some fo the worn shelves and things to see what's around. It's mostly dust, empty boxes and bags, some broken jars... )

'Sides, it's nice being out...

( With you? With you. Hmm, it sounds like there's something more he wants to say but he's still wondering how to make this natural. It doesn't feel genuine if he forces his feelings out! )

Yes. I got burnt by the sun. It's still healing, so my skin is still hot.

[ Or, rather, the burning, tingling sensation is still there. His brother helped him some, but he still hates the heat. His world was so hot after the Blaze, but he only got to experience the weather in a corporeal state for a short time. Being a ghost wasn't so bad when he didn't have to worry about temperatures anymore. ]

( It's not that Mutsu isn't opposed to just yelling you need a bath but he at least tries to be polite and decent. So he's grateful that the conversation has taken this sort of turn because he can work with it, )a

Have ya tried rinsing off? ( He gives Sinistra a curious look to see if he can tell how bad the burn is, ) Water'll help ya cool off real fast and it'll clean ya up too.

( Yeah, he said it. )a

My brother put some coconut water on it. But that was a day or two ago.

[ So its effect is no longer in place. He looks up at Mutsu with a curious expression. ]

So I do have to go in there again to bath?

[ His brother hadn't given him an answer before... it was deep last time he was shoved in. He's not super married to living, but with dying being, he's told, totally useless, going through the pain of drowning seems like an annoyance he doesn't want to go through. ]

A little bit of water every now and then isn't gonna do the job. ( Kneeling down by the edge with Sinistra, ) Ya gotta take care of yourself everyday.

( Hmm. )

Ya don't gotta go in there exactly but since we're here, it's not gonna hurt.

Mmm...

[ That keeps coming up. 'Taking care of himself'. But the things people keep saying he needs to do he's never done in his life. The nurses washed them and fed him. When they couldn't feed him, a tube and IVs did. When their clothes needed washed, the aids changed them and washed their clothes. Worse, he'd slept through the majority of these things, too weak to stay awake as long as his brother did when it was his 'turn'. ]

If I have to... it's what brother wanted me to do, but...

[ Does he just... jump in again ? He's hesitating. ]

( Have no fear, Mutsu has been there before. He has a year or two under hi sbelt by now but learning how to be human was a process. He's still missing some clues in the big picture here or else he'd explain things a little better. Oh, well.

There's a moment where he's quiet, clearly thinking of something but before he actually acts, he'll ask, )

Scared?

[ Sinistra keeps his eyes on the water and stays quiet for a long moment. Then, he nods his head with a soft tone of confirmation humming out of him. There's probably no point in lying about it. He didn't have a good time in the water here last time. ]

[He presses his boot deeper into the pile of refuse and -

A few rather sizable bugs scurry out from the hole he's created, causing Ryouma to jump back a step. Yeah, no. He's not going to dig through that pile anymore.

(Not just because of some yucky bugs, okay, if there are bugs there, then the soundness of anything structural is thrown immediately into question. Obviously.)]

Ah...uh huh. Maybe you'll have better luck'n me.

[Please don't take anything home that is bug-infested, Mutsunokami. For your own safety, if not also your sanity.

He walks away from the pile and approaches Mutsunokami, just in case he actually has some luck or needs help with something. But while there's nothing wrong with what the tsukumogami says, it sort of...hangs there. Ryouma tilts his head to the side a little bit, watching him. Is he done? Or is he debating something?

Ryouma's got a hunch it's the latter.]

Yeah? Can't say I disagree.

[It's nice being out. Even if they're coming up pretty empty-handed, they're making an effort. And he's not stuck in a room or a house, so that's always a plus.

Still, while they could continue the conversation in this vein, his gut still tells him it's not quite right. So he doesn't take his eyes off Mutsunokami. It's okay. You can talk.

It's just me.]

[True... Roxas thinks it over and shakes his head.]

I don't wanna interview everyone in town.

[That sounds boring and he just wants to make flower crowns.]

( Ah. He gets it now and he's quiet again in turn. )

Ya know... the water's real scary. ( He can admit that much. ) I know a lot of guys who've gone into the water and never come back. If it doesn't take ya down quickly, it washes away at ya real slow...

( And he stands up, removing his word and undoing some of the more extra bits of his clothing-- his holster and gun, his belt ~~and that dang fake tail~~. )

And ya know, the water here's real weird! It's not like the water back home so ya probably might not get what I'm saying now... but the water can be real nice too! A lot of people like the water, ya know. It's fun getting in there and splashing around. If ya let it, it can be real good to ya too.

( And he's going to toss off the top layer of his yukata which makes it pretty obvious that he's going to jump into the water real soon. )

I'll show ya.

( Ask him how..... )

( He's left himself hanging and he knows it. He has to say something to fill it now, especially with Ryouma watching him. So he looks ahead but at nothing in particular, loudly exclaiming, )

I just never thought I'd get to spend time with ya again. ( Ah, saying that out loud... it makes him feel something. It's something sad to admit but being in this situation, he can't help but be happy. ) It's been a long time...!

( And while he's speaking, he begins to push some of the things on the shelf around. He knows some people who are looking for things like bags and jars to keep things in, especially since they've recently gotten food and spices that they want to share. While he's reaching for one jar that seems to be intact, his hand brushes over some of the other broken ones. It's then that the palm of his hand brushes against one particularly sharp edge and he pulls his hand back instinctively. )

--Ow!

( He checks his hand. It's not a terrible cut, really, but it's starting to bleed just a little. Huh, one of those annoying shallow cuts, huh? )

Why not? The more people ya talk to, the more ya'll learn about their worth.

( It's true. Where's the lie! )
