It's more like he is the younger brother. Have pity on his siblings, Tonbokiri.

Talking about the ocean with Sakamoto Ryouma is a dangerous course of action, though. He's been known to wax poetic about it and if Tonbokiri continues to give him the time of day, it won't be much different now. "Well, y'see, I don't have a ship, not even a boat, so I can't exactly sail on it. But it's less that an' more that it's just...lifeless." He frowns, clearly upset by that fact, but there's nothing he can reasonably do about it. The ocean is huge and vast and for all his confidence is worth, he's still just one man. He can do his part to convince long-time domains to see eye-to-eye, but trying to convince an ocean to act naturally is way above any abilities he may have.

He will happily take that offer for yet more drink.

"I actually had a similar conversation with Mutsunokami, back before I knew who he was. But we both agreed that the ocean and basically all the big bodies of water in Chroma feel wrong. The ocean's supposed t'be alive, y'know? And I don't mean all the fish and other creatures in it, though that definitely counts for part of it. I mean the ocean itself is a force all its own. We may have learned to travel across it and tame it to that extent, but that's just barely brushin' the surface. The ocean can mess your whole day up in the blink of an eye if you're not careful. Hell, it can swallow you whole in an instant even if ya are bein' careful. 'Cause it's...it's that much of a wild creature. Ya can work with it, but ya gotta respect it at the same time." He takes a drink, but his monologue isn't over juuust yet.

"Nah, but in Chroma, it's just...there. Sure, there are some wimpy little waves every now and then, but it's nothin' like what it should be. I get the feeling if you so much as wade into the shallows you'll never come back out."
