[He's still going to eyeball the skyhook because it's unlike anything he's seen. Tyson's built him enough useful weapons, and Leo can create stupid things, too, but he can't even fathom what that is.
The answer's not a happy one though and he frowns lightly. Likewise, he doesn't realize they've spoken before and so it's on par with delivering bad news to a stranger.]
It depends. They seem to be going for us first, so I think fighting is our answer. But if they're people...we should try to catch them to calm them down until they revert. What do you know about werewolves?
[He's still not completely over the Change, not to mention it was almost back-to-back in a way with being terrorized by Heretic because of the Bogeyman. He's not sure what he'll do when not placated by daytime.
Worry a lot, he guesses.] I think you should help others, too. But be careful. It's dangerous. Maybe you won't change, but keep being careful. We'll find a way to stop it.
[He takes a moment to watch that sword at work, which means a wolf gets to spend a few extra seconds gnawing on his shin. But then his claws flash, and with a pitiful squeal it drops down, blood spilling over the cobblestone streets.
With an irritated noise he shoves himself forward, slamming the door behind him. Standing next to the other man, he glances over at him, blood splattered over his face and torso.]
We got about five minutes til dawn. Think you can handle it?
[ A wry smile forms on her lips. It's an echo of what Maleficent had told her once, and what Xehanort had told Maleficent so long ago. ]
If you lose control, I can bind you for a short amount of time. It's effective, but it lasts only long enough for me to evacuate anyone nearby. If that's something you feel would be best, I'll do it when the moon comes.
[Aqua is still far better with healing, but Roxas makes due with what he has. He could have used Cura or Curaga, but he doesn't know the others extent of injuries other than the one he sees.]
Thanks? It's just some magic. My other spells are stronger.
[Roxas blinks when he's clapped on the shoulder. When was the last time someone did that? Axel was the only one, so it's been a while.]
Yeah. My friend Aqua helped, too. She's really good at it... But she didn't like the bite. Is it bad? To get bit by those things?
Sora's the only one who can save everyone. Riku might be a master, but he knows that too, I think. But after the exam... [He glances away.] He has to build up his strength again. Can you help him? He needs someone strong.
[ Roxas asks her to help, and tells her she's strong, and Aqua's throat suddenly feels tight. She's spent so long in the darkness, faced with her own failures and her weaknesses, so long dwelling on the fact that she couldn't save the people she loves more than anything. Aqua takes a breath. ]
Of course I'll help him, Roxas. [ She squeezes his shoulders gently. She may have fallen into the darkness, away from the realm of light and unable to lend her help, but here... Here, she can do something that matters. ] I'll talk to him.
[Nodding, Roxas manages a smile.] Thanks. I don't know if he'd want me to help, so you're the only one I can ask. There's not a lot of us Keybearers here, and I don't have the powers he does.
[The power to awaken hearts seems to be Sora's alone.]
But if you need something to have him practice with, I can summon my Nobodies.
But you're right, we should find some in the store if we can. At least I think a bunch of us know some form of 'magic' or something like it? So that might help too, at least.
[Has Estelle mentioned she missed orbal technology, because boy do you miss simple things like orbal lights and boilers after awhile.]
[Joshua knew her well, after so many years-- the solitude was eating at her, especially since she couldn't curl up next to Joshua at night like this. A habit they'd gotten into and never gotten out of, it seems, but one she'd taken to nonetheless.
And now she's alone, tucked into a little ball of misery against the doorframe, wishing there wasn't a door stuck between them so she could reach out and touch him. Still, even if he wasn't in here with her, he was here, with her. It was reassuring, even if it only made her miss him a little more in some ways.
But that craving for his presence wasn't the only thing she was feeling right now, unfortunately.]
[It's unfortunately not too hard to see the problem as he gets closer. Furry arms cover Estelle's head, a soft, canine sounding whimper escaping her before she finally, finally glances up.]
No..... I don't think so.
[Those definitely aren't human teeth in her mouth, and those ears atop her head aren't human at all. A fluffy tail curls around her waist, her red eyes wide and from the look in them, the poor girl is plenty freaked out by this occurrence.]
[ Crowley's thoughts right now: Guren smells good :3c ]
Are you that surprised? [ His lips, still peppered with remnants of blood, curl up into a smile. Obnoxiously friendly, incredibly gentle, nothing one would picture belonged to a wolf who had finished devouring a rabbit without hesitating. Everything about his demeanor remains the same, tipping his head to the side as he takes a step forward. ]
I protected the people of the town, so you can't go and get mad at me. In fact, I think I deserve some kind of reward for my actions.
I'm worried, too. It's even worse since I know we have a lot of people here who might not be able to defend themselves. Do we know if anyone's keeping track of who's been bit and who's still safe?
Yeah...thanks. A little closer to the red district would be okay, too. Less far to walk.
[But the fact that she's finally remembered to say "thanks", even offhandedly, seems to jar loose the fact that yes, she actually does owe this guy a whole lot of thanks, and after a moment or two to regroup, it starts to show.]
I, um. I mean it, thanks. Really. That was a pretty daring rescue, back there.
[ Crowley promptly clicks his tongue, brows furrowed. ] Can't you take a joke? I'm trying to lighten up the mood. [ For once, which is actually a blessing in of itself.
But he's more interested in the blood on their clothes, on the fact that it's obviously not their own and it gives the impression that Crowley should take caution. Does it belong to another werewolf? It's likely, but if it had been someone from the Town that was bitten then -- ]
You're welcome. I'm sure if the situation was reversed, you'd do your best to help me too.
[ Yes, he genuinely believes that. For what it's worth, he'll head towards Ruga before depositing her not far from... well, from their shared home, to be frank.]
I'm pretty sure that if they want to find me, they're going to whether I like it or not.
[Interesting. She definitely knows a dodge when she hears one — mostly because she does it so often herself that she's just naturally attuned to when she experiences it in other people.
So it seems like Literature Kid here is both smart and possessing of a healthy dose of paranoia. That's interesting. Those are two qualities she always likes to see in a person. They're also two qualities she's always wary of, in a person.]
And from what I've seen of them so far, they don't exactly strike me as subtle.
[Ouch. Now that stings, because inwardly she's well aware that he's wrong — and deep, deeper down, buried beneath all the cynicism and selfishness and callousness, she's even more aware that once upon a time he would've been right.]
I mean. Little town like this, it's just smart for everybody to help each other out, right?
[That's a good answer that actually says nothing toward directly answering his question, no matter how it might sound like it does.]
So does this mean I'm off the hook for owing you one, mister?
[Is the answer given, wryly enough. Because it's true. Keith isn't the type to really look before he leaps. He usually manages anyway, through sheer stubbornness alone. that said, he ducks his head in a quick grateful gesture for the assist.]
Hasn't stopped me yet though. Thanks.
[And he charges at the wounded wolf, which has already decided it did not like that bullet and the glowy sword isn't looking so hot any more either.]
