[So, she hasn't really done one of these DEFEAT THE MIDBOSS quests. And of course, she's going to grab a power up before she goes. So excuse her humming when they first walk into the forest.
She was, as usual in these situations, in her uniform but she was walking with her feet on the ground for this quest. Hey, he was going to see her using her powers if it turns into a fight but that was a different matter altogether!]
[Shearing sheep was one of Mahmut's (many) special skills. After all, their people had been known as the conquerors who marched along their sheep once.
Though, admittedly, he usually had all the right tools. And the sheep weren't usually invisible.]
Hopefully, the sheep aren't mutants as well. I'm confident I can shear it without hurting it even in these circumstances if they're calm. But if they have extra limbs that I can't see it is another matter altogether.
[If Ling looks a touch more frazzled and exhausted than the last time they spoke, well—it's not actually all thanks to the punishment the town has dished out to him, ironically enough. He's dealing with it by not bringing it up, anyway, but every now and then he looks distracted, before perking back up and hustling to keep up with her.
Time to learn about Psychic Powers... he's got a sword? That's something, right?]
Deep. [....ehhh] The last time I was in here, fairies tried to kill me... Deeper than that.
[ it's a good thing he knows, because zelda's experience is... none. she's seen people sheer sheep before, but that's about the extent of her great wisdom. ]
That would be troublesome. I wonder how they maintain their invisibility. Perhaps we can find a way to see them that doesn't require actually seeing them. Though regardless, our duty remains the same.
...You will have to be my tutor once more. I don't know anything about sheering.
Hm...I'm sure there will be someone willing to try!
[She's made plenty of friends that have been more than willing to go along with her shenanigans. When they're far enough into the forest she pulls out Minamoto's cellphone from her pocket.]
...it feels a bit weird for me to be doing this. [But also sort of exciting? She's always wanted to try doing this!]
[He's just a weird overachiever in addition to being from the sort of culture he came from.
Though he hadn't even for one moment wondered about why they were invisible and didn't understand why such a question would matter. But as to whether or not they could see them...
He put a hand to his chin and thought.]
Perhaps if we threw mud on them? Or perhaps some paint. Something that would make them visible to us?
[He shrugged.]
Where I come from, children begin to learn by observing then they are allowed to participate as they grow older. It is easy enough to learn if you just pay attention.
[And she's observant! And hardworking. Despite the fact that he wasn't being what most would consider nice about it, he actually had no doubts that she'd pick it up if needed.]
[Right. Riiiight. Sure you are, Ling. Sure. And Kaoru's hair is green.]
The timing is pretty suspicious...but we get these quests every month. Besides, one of the previous quest gave out whole boxes of coloured food as a reward!
[And she eats a lot, okay? This isn't temptation, this is life or death!
Either way, she does agree that they'll probably need to go deeper in the forest so...guess that's what's happening now!]
Sometimes all it takes it patience. [ and she has more than enough experience in patience, of all things. she grins readily. ] I say we throw ourselves in and see what happens. Invisible or not... they're just sheep yes? What could possibly go wrong?
[Shiho doesn't have to close her eyes but she does it right now anyway for effect, opening them once the limiter is released. Now, time to find some sheep!!]
This way, Kaoru-chan.
[She points, expecting to be picked up because Kaoru spoils her way too much. Also because who walks through forests really.]
Well, there are these shows where the characters settle everything using card games. Like, fighting over a sandwich? Card games. Dealing with a thief? Card games. Saving the world? Card games! Usually there's some kind of magic or ancient prophecies involved.
They're kind of silly, but I guess that's because they're made for little kids...
