It's raining, it's pouring. The old man is snoring. He bumped his head and went to bed And he couldn't get up in the morning.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light. It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb. The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find. Oh, and to make things even better, it's raining today. Water from below (though thankfully only like, knee-deep), and water from above... how fun. But most importantly of all... you're not alone. Welcome to Awash's second intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. New characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out. Thankfully, they have some friends on the outside, this time. Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways. Please feel free to ask any questions here and don't forget to greet your fellow players here!

It's sort of like...a feeling? Have you noticed feeling like you're drawn to a particular part of the town since you got here?

[ Don't come down?? Why would anybody come down— but it's too late, the light from above is blocked out and Mafuyu, rather than retreating and pressing her back against the inside of the well so that she won't get crushed, sets her feet apart and holds out her arms, as if she's intending to catch Kaoru.

(she's intending to catch Kaoru)

Her knees might buckle under the force of a body slamming into her, but she won't fall, and she won't drop Kaoru either ]

Vampires?

[ Noctis echoes, staring at him in surprise -- he'll answer the question later; as much as he likes praise (and a lot of it), he's still trying to reconcile what he's looking at and what he's read about in fairytales or in those movies he makes the guys watch with him. ]

You're -- huh. I thought they would be way uglier than you.

[ You know, huge teeth and giant forehead and feral eyes and all that. Also, forgive his tactlessness; this is all really new to him. Heck, this dude is built like Gladio, almost, even if he's about 200% less grouchy at the prospect of being here. He's not afraid, not really -- jury's out on whether that's a good thing or just really, really stupid. ]

And uh -- yeah -- that was warping. Just a thing. You don't look too upset to be here.

Of course! [Izuku looks surprised at the question.] We're all sort of...stuck here until we figure out how to get back home, so it makes sense that we'd help each other out, right?

Besides, if we become friends, then we won't be strangers anymore. [Totally sound logic.]

[he's learning as he goes -

and one of the things that catch his eye is the notion of a wish. a wish that could be granted, that he could do something to help someone. anyone, really. so ieyasu might not be that picky as he finds himself wandering about the town and oddly enough the first person that he comes across is The Witch]

[Yeah. Yeah, about that. Unlike most of the people here the rain doesn't seem to bother Percy at all given he's almost leisurely strolling through and patrolling the area. He's already located his own partner in crime and they've split up to cover more ground but he's still a little on guard. He's twirling a pen between his fingers as he walks, checking out abandoned buildings and getting a lay for the land before his gaze shifts and he spots someone who looks even more out of place than he currently feels.

He maybe shouldn't call out to her, but he does approach casually, not quite making direct eye contact just in case that turns out to be a bad idea.]

Looking for something, or exploring like the rest of us? [He hasn't kept track of everyone in the well so it's hard for him to say if Selina's new or not.]

[... well, sure. ieyasu understands the logic, and the sincerity of it makes him smile. there's a laugh and a nod of agreement]

Ah, you're right! Then I'd be quite glad to be your friend.

Nope! Even the buildings look strangely built, besides the obvious problem.

[And they just climbed out of a well, so this is officially the weirdest- second- third weirdest place he's ever been, and none of it looks safe at all.]

Let's pick a random house and go in.

You need to be taller!! Drink more milk!

[ Even rising up to the tips of her toes, reaching up as far as she can, Mafuyu is just too short and it doesn't matter how tall Ieyasu is, she just brings the average down.

With a huff, she lets her arms drop to cross over her chest, tapping her feet on Ieyasu's shoulder in agitation. ]

Think you can throw me high enough? Then I could go out and find a rope or teacher or something.

[ Okay, some people do happen to notice when he does this, but the people back home were often too confused and slow in their reactions to call him out on it. He doesn't expect to be so suddenly grabbed. ] Woah!

[ Gave him a shock there, Maya. ] U-Uh, hey there. You probably noticed, huh? [ A little embarrassing, but it's not like he was doing anything bad! ] Guess I'm not too great at being discreet.

[Well, it's a long walk, he might as well learn about this place.]

That was a couple months ago now... [How can he remember that far back--] I was just getting up to go to school, I guess? Nothing special.

[ She settles down- not getting off his back, but just hanging on like she intends to be piggybacked everywhere- and taps at the armor again. Sure is hard, kind of strange looking, and doubtful that it'll be of any use to getting out of here.

[ Oh, he's absolutely freezing, down to the bone, but he doesn't feel it because being cold is a state of mind and all that. He's just focusing on the present, on what he sees and is aware of, listening to conversations and getting answers that way.

When she moves closer, he doesn't really think about it as his hand reaches out to cup her shoulder, thumb brushing over the leather of the catsuit. He considers pulling her closer, body heat definitely being something that could warm Selina up but there's still all the ... people around.

His voice is low as he replies, the well too busy for anyone but her to catch his words. ]

Alternate reality, I think. There's a town above with people here. Need to get out to understand more but it's too congested to slip through right now.

[ Then a slight pause and he frowns. ]

We need to get you warm.

_{[ One thing Jake is thankful for is the fact that most of the people he's interacted with here have been very warm and inviting. It's less nerve wrecking that way. He isn't accustomed to crowds and he isn't accustomed to strangers, so having people talk to him individually has been a good way for him to settle in. ]}

A lot of time? Whew nelly, I don't think all the time in the world could catch up with all the hogswallop we gotta catch up on. I'll be frank, all of these timey-wimey helpings and alternate world horseshit is mind-blogging to say the least. It is for me, but some of my other friends seem to understand what's going on when I haven't the darndest.

[Friendship: obtained! It's been surprisingly easy to make friends here in this other world. Though Izuku wants to go home, just like most of them, he thinks he'll miss everyone that he's met here.]

Izuku Midoriya. [Ieyasu gets a smile in response, also a nervous sort of look at the hoodie still being held over his head.] Are you...really going to do this until we get indoors?

Feels like Ling doesn't want to talk about it and Shouto doesn't have that much interest so. He'll just let the raindrops hitting the ice tunnel fill the silence for now.]

[ Mafuyu shouts back up—- technically, she'd sent a dry, semi-legible note up with the pigeon, which was released on purpose and not lost, so it isn't exactly a lie- but before Shiho can turn around and leave to find whoever she's looking for, Mafuyu adds quickly ]

But if you're here, come and save us! Is there a rescue team coming? I sent out a message to get help!

[Oh boy, does that mean it's Ling's turn to pick a topic?! Too bad he's kind of one note when he's hungry, because first, when he gets bored of being quiet-]

(He hums a bit to himself for now, wondering the best way to introduce himself. He's never really had to give his name to another person before-- it's always been advised not to given the secrecy of most of their missions.)

(Close enough and not nearly as weird as "Mutsunokami." It can even pass off as a normal name!!!)
