Intro Log.

It's raining, it's pouring.
The old man is snoring.
He bumped his head and went to bed
And he couldn't get up in the morning.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb.

The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find. Oh, and to make things even better, it's raining today. Water from below (though thankfully only like, knee-deep), and water from above... how fun.

But most importantly of all... you're not alone.

Welcome to Awash's second intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. New characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out. Thankfully, they have some friends on the outside, this time.

Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways.

( Wow, this kid sure is defensive! He's starting to figure that out, now. His eyes light up when Damian tells him to worry about getting out of the rain and like the smart ass he is, Mutsu laughs, )

Gahaha! How about ya follow your advice and I'll follow mine?( As Damian expects, Mutsu does, in fact, follow him. ) That's right. You too?

And I'm guessing you weren't?

( She seems pretty dry to him. )

Only recently - we've had one successful meeting so far, and another one is being planned. Unfortunately, the young lady who arranged them in the first place seems to have gone missing.

[It was a pity, she was such a noblewoman.]

Maybe not... [It looks like Damian needs more than just a towel or cloak at this point, and Izuku tells him as much.]

It looks like you need a place to warm up, though. You're shivering. [However hard Damian might be trying to hide that, Izuku's really sharp-eyed when he wants to be.]

Besides....you just came out of the well, right? [With an outfit like that, Izuku knows he would've remembered seeing him before.] If you warm up at my place, I can answer any questions you have.

[Ace is as bad about Damian as Damian is about Ace, honestly. The dog keeps getting petted despite how hard he's trying to keep his fists down by his sides. Look, Ace is a good dog! Ace needs to be rewarded for being concerned about others! Good dog things.]

Caution is advised. A lot of the buildings are dilapidated, and they could cave in on top of us, or sink in beneath us. [His mouth opens--he starts to say, "Father," again, but then closes his mouth to re-calibrate.] Stay behind me. I'll lead.

[Great. The one time he can push leading into his father's face, and it's simply defaulted because with Bruce versus Robin, Robin is clearly going to be in the know.]

I have a question for you before we go: Do you notice anything out of the ordinary about this place?

[He's trying to see if his own eyes are what's fucked up or not.]

[There's a tunnel... a bright light... Lissa, is that you? She dizzily opens her eyes, and -

That's not Lissa.]

... WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!

[Yeah she is not happy. At all. If her head wasn't throbbing in agony, she'd be smacking him with her staff, so, there's one positive thing.]

What kind of insane madman swings around trees and then assaults an innocent, defenseless young lady?! If this were Ylisse, I'd have you jailed, you ruffian!

[innocent and defenseless are kinda iffy.]

Ah... yes, I've done a few myself. Were you interested in completing one? I am what you would call a "yellow".

["That happens." So useful, pajama boy.]

It's gonna be hella wet after I use it, so I hope you won't mind. [A change of clothes would probably be a more hypothermia-free option but she doesn't have that luxury.]

Wait, you've been stuck here for two months now? That's...a really long time! [Longer than she wants to be stuck here, that's for sure.]

I...

[He's kind of stunned. After a moment of gaping, he nods and holds his camera a little closer to his chest, something precious.]

I know what you mean, kind of.

[Idly, Prompto runs his thumb over the edges of his camera, the one real thing in a long series of nightmares.]

My friends and I went on this journey, and... and a lot of really awful things happened. Are still happening. But... this camera's proof that good things happened, too. That we had fun. It's all here. I was gonna make an album for the wedding...

[He trails off there. Then, with effort, Prompto shakes his head and smiles, a little pained but very genuine.]

You probably don't wanna be caught here forever while a stranger shows you pictures in the rain, but if you wanna look sometime...?

Just be quiet! [It comes out with ten times less venom than he'd have liked. 1) He's supposed to be Robin and helpful and nice (yeah right). 2) Surprisingly, he's been beaten down a little by Jon, and he's becoming not so Mean.]

Yes, I came out of the well. I never fell into a well. I'm assuming you didn't fall into a well either. The only likely conclusion is interdimensional travel.

[Or... death. He doesn't want to say it's death, but he had been struggling to reach the surface of the ocean with Jon in his arms right before everything went black.]

[Only now does she realize how crazy that sounds.]

Ah, oh... forgive me, good sir, but you see... Animals are very rare here, especially domestic ones. The only ones I've seen are ones we've brought with us, which has so far only been horses, or ones we are "gifted" upon completing quests.

[There's also a giant talking pigeon but she doesn't want this man thinking she's insane.]

[ wow, dave is so smart. he knows all the things. ]

nice. you really know a lot, huh? first of all, what's your name?

Oh. So sort of like playing hot and cold, eeeeexcept with some mysterious, magic force that tells us where we're supposed to live.

...

Sounds... fun? I guess it's better than trying to camp in the rain without a tent. [With a muffled grunt, Prompto pulls himself up, returning his camera to his side on its strap, and nods.] I don't want to put you out or anything, but if you're sure, I-I wouldn't mind the help.

I believe it's been well over a month now, perhaps slightly longer...

[Another sigh, but this one is just sad.]

In the beginning we weren't really in any state of mind to keep track of things right away. You understand.

[Oh my gods why this. One minute he's minding his own business for once in his life and the next he's being flagged down by a stranger. Nevertheless, Percy pauses and lifts a hand to wave back and acknowledge her anyway.]

Only twenty? That's less than usual. [A grin.] But sure. Shoot.

oh. if it's like that then i'll feel less bad about taking them off your hands. i wonder if they'll fit me though, people keep saying i'm tall for my age

well, it's worth trying out. i could meet with you?

Yeah, you get used to it. [ if only he knew to go "btw maybe don't time travel if you don't want death trauma" since no one else has had the capability to hit that particular game issue before, so yeah he's not as helpful as he could be alas. ]

And I for sure don't mind - you can keep it. Uh...there are clothes around but I don't have any on me right now. [ he just wears his pajamas every day...but he suddenly has a blanket in his hands from nowhere, and he hands it over to her. ]

[ Junko completely bypasses the comment about her lack of manners (because it's True), instead rolling her eyes dramatically before gesturing to the books around her-- even to the book Maribelle picks up. ]

Yeah, duh? The problem is that I can't take a personality quiz in a book about fairy tales! All of this information is useless to me.

[Squeaking isn't really a manly sound, so the sound Prompto makes definitely shouldn't be described as squeaky. Still, with a startled, high-pitched non-squeak noise, he jumps in his seat and curls up around the camera, because for whatever reason, that's his first instinct to protect.]

I-- [Dude, it's just a girl. He breathes out, still blatantly nervous, but takes it down a couple notches.] I'll be fine! I-I'm used to roughing it, you know? Hahaha.

Sure! Why don't you come to my place? Then you can dry off and try the clothes on.

We can talk about the quest while we wait for the rain to stop, too.

[Visibly, Damian frowns at the suggestion. Izuku unknowingly put him between a rock and a hard place. The Wayne in him craves the informational reward he'll receive if he does as asked; however, the Bat in him is immediately suspicious of any kind of set-up not under his own control.

But then he would be admitting he's never in control, and clearly, something like that is just impossible.] Fine.

This better not be a waste of my time.

[Now this is just sad, Prompto...Percy's taken to exploring Flavo because he has a feeling he'll be spending time here despite living in Bluo and it's how he comes across a dude sitting on the ground under a tree and trying to fix...is that a camera? Huh. Okay. Either way, his approach is slow even with the hood of his sweater over his head and he walks closer.

He recognizes distress enough that it feels...pretty bad leaving him to his own devices.]

Hey dude. [Casual. He's never met the guy but it's easier to do casual and just be a little on guard.] Wouldn't it be better to get out of the rain for a while?

Not today, no. This must mean we have a batch of newcomers... So this is going to keep happening...

[It's an upsetting matter, to be sure.]

Mutsuno... Yoshiyuki-san?

[ That pause was kind of weird, but she's just going to roll with it, giving a laugh. ]

You don't have to be nervous, I don't bite!

[ yeah, surely someone so enthusiastic must be shy!! ]

You can see him? [ He's not supposed to be able to. Stands are a manifestation of a person's willpower and psyche, almost a little bit like spirits. While Josuke isn't actually the expect on Stand mechanics (he really only knows how to use his), he knows that only other Stand users should be able to see Crazy Diamond. ]

This is my Stand. His name is 'Crazy Diamond'. [ Like the Pink Floyd song?? Yeah. Crazy Diamond kind of stands behind him, almost like a large pink shadow, and it should be clear to Damian just why these beings are called 'Stands'. His expression, while mostly stoic, does seem to shift a little to match Josuke's on occasion. ] Usually, only Stand users can see Stands. You wouldn't happen to have some sort of ability, would you?
