Duo wasn't expecting that at all (though really there was no reason for Somnus to simply hang around while he worked) but it still made his skewed emotions from that damned flower react. He started to protest, to say 'you don't have to go', but even with the flower affecting him he knew it was an irrational feeling.

"... thanks. Take care."

It was like pulling needles out of his cheek to say that, but he managed it despite looking like he was actually in physical pain to do so.
